Roz Savage MP completes the first half of her summer tour with eight 'Meet Your MP' events and community visits across South Cotswolds

Roz Savage MP has completed the first half of her summer tour of the South Cotswolds, meeting constituents at eight ‘Meet Your MP’ events and dropping into local community hubs, charities and venues across the constituency between 28 July and 6 August.
Roz’s open-door events – held in village halls, community centres and marketplaces – gave residents the chance to share their views, raise issues, and chat with their MP in a relaxed setting. The first leg of the tour took her to Cirencester, Avening, Kingswood, Tetbury, Purton, Somerford Keynes, Down Ampney, South Cerney and Fairford.
As well as her advertised sessions, Roz also visited Cirencester Foodbank, spent time at community cafés in Avening, Tetbury and Purton, and volunteered at Lechlade Library – helping to shelve books and speak with families during the school holidays.
Reflecting on the first ten days of her tour, Roz said:
“It’s been a joy to be out and about across the constituency, hearing directly from local residents about the things that matter most to them. Whether in a busy town square or a village or town hall, the conversations have been thoughtful, grounded, and deeply appreciated.”
“From concerns about GP access and rural transport, to ideas for supporting young people and protecting our local environment, people have shared their hopes and frustrations openly and constructively. These conversations will shape the work I do both locally and in Westminster.”
“It was also great to visit some of the brilliant local initiatives making a real difference in our communities – including Cirencester Foodbank and community cafés in Purton and Tetbury. Volunteering at Lechlade Library was a particular highlight – libraries are so much more than just books, and it was heartening to see the space being used and loved.”
Roz’s summer tour will continue later in August, with a further nine ‘Meet Your MP’ events planned before the end of the month. All are drop-in sessions open to all residents, with dates and times published locally or available by emailing Roz at roz.savage.mp@parliament.uk
“These events are part of my commitment to being an accessible and community-focused MP,” Roz added. “I want to be a strong voice for the South Cotswolds – and that starts with listening, learning, and working alongside the people I represent.”
